WHO ARE WE?

NACID is a government organization, with the Ministry of Education and Science. Its main objectives are:

to collect, store, process, maintain and disseminate information and documentation on national and global achievements, to support the national policy in the field of education, science and innovations;
to provide information services to the Bulgarian research institutes, universities, SMEs and individual researchers;
to develop and offer printed and/or digital information products;
to provide information to support the process of harmonization of the Bulgarian educational and research legislation with that of the European Union.

SCOPE OF ACTIVITY

To meet the information needs of the Bulgarian scientific, research and business communities NACID:

Develops and disseminates abstracts, analyses and bibliographic references, providing an insight into the national educational, research, technological and innovative policy;
Maintains specialized databases on national research infrastructure, scientific potential and research products, that can be subject to transfer;
Hosts and offers access to bibliographic databases for deposited papers and other scientific publications in Bulgaria;
Stores and updates a national archive of dissertations;
Provides online information and library services, based on national and international information sources;
Provides information services on national, European and international research projects;
Functions as institutional Contact point of the Sixth EU Framework Programme (FP6);
Functions as National distributor of UNESCO’s DBMS “MicroCDS ISIS”;
Provides document delivery services, including electronic document delivery (EDD);
Provides consulting services;
